Handmade in Western Australia by Chris Busby. The box features a very attractive Jarrah case and a lid panel of exotic African Zebrano timber.
The inner base of the box is lined with upholstery grade faux suede fabric and the specialist box hinges hold the lid open at a little over 90 degrees, ie. the lid does not flop all the way back and does not require the use of intrusive lid stays.
The overall dimensions of the box are 300 x 195 x 80 mm in height.
The box pictured is the one being purchased and postage within Australia is included in the price.
Generously sized, this box has plenty of room to keep items organised and ready to hand. Its classic lines make it a perfect fit for any decor and is the perfect gift for a man or woman.
With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
Zebrano or Zebrawood has heartwood that is a light brown or cream color with dark blackish brown streaks vaguely resembling a zebra’s stripes. Depending on whether the wood is flatsawn or quartersawn, the stripes can be either chaotic and wavy (flatsawn), or somewhat uniform (quartersawn).
