Handmade in Western Australia by Chris Busby. The box features a very attractive Jarrah case with a tray that has ring/cufflink rolls in one of the partitions.
The box inner base and tray is lined with upholstery fabric that will prove as long-lasting as it is attractive.
Inlay banding (which was made by myself and is therefore unique) has been used on three surfaces, ie. both sides of the lid and also the front panel of the box body. The banding on the front encloses a contrasting piece of Jarrah veneer to provide a very nice visual effect.
The lid is hinged such that it stops at just over 90 degrees and the overall dimensions of the box are 300 x 185 x 110 mm in height.
The box pictured is the one being purchased.
With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
