Handmade in Western Australia by Chris Busby. The box features a very attractive Jarrah case and a lid panel of very appealing American Maple that has a nice curl running through the grain.
The lid panel has been slightly coloured by the application of a coat of shellac beneath the finishing coats of lacquer.
The box has a removable tray. Both the tray and the inner base are lined with upholstery fabric that will prove as long-lasting as it is attractive.
The lid is hinged such that it stops at just over 90 degrees and the overall dimensions of the box are 300 x 185 x 105 mm in height.
The box pictured is the one being purchased.
With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
