Handmade in Western Australia by Chris Busby. The box features a very attractive Jarrah case and a lid panel of beautiful Coastal Banksia to make it a very individual piece of Australian craft.
The box has a removable tray and both the inner base of the box and tray are lined with upholstery grade faux suede fabric.
Decorative corner keys are also a feature of this large and practical box.
The lid is hinged such that it stops at just over 90 degrees and the overall dimensions of the box are 300 x 180 x 135 mm in height.
The box pictured is the one being purchased.
With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
Coastal Banksia (Banksia integrifolia) This is a uniquely Australian species of tree that grows along the east coast of Australia. One of the most widely distributed Banksia species, it occurs between Victoria and Central Queensland in a broad range of habitats, from coastal dunes to mountains.
