Large Desk Box in Jarrah, Mahogany and Black Leather

A unique desk box handmade in Western Australia. The Jarrah box is complemented by a beautifully figured panel of Mahogany in the top. The lid is hinged such that it stops at just over 90 degrees.
The box features the use of black leather as linings in the box. The leather panel in the inner lid has the grain side visible, whereas the inner base of the box and tray shows the suede side.
The small tray is approximately one third the width of the box and slides from one side to the other to allow access without necessarily having to remove it.
One of my 'Executive' style ballpoint pens is included. The pen is in highly figured Jarrah and features two tone chromium metal components.

Its measurements are:
- External - 340 x 270 x 100 mm high.
- Internal - 290 x 210 x 70 mm high.
- Tray (internal) - 200 x 93 x 24 mm high
With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
