This perfectly proportioned document box in Jarrah was handmade in Western Australia. The interior space is large enough to accommodate A4 sized documents without folding.
The beautiful top panel consists of squares of Jarrah veneer arranged such that each square is at right angles to its neighbouring pieces. The resulting changes in the direction of grain cause light to reflect off the surface in a shimmering effect.
The top panel is bordered by beading using a pale timber (Victorian Ash) to compliment the corner keys which also provide an appealing visual effect.
The inner base and lid are lined with upholstery grade fabric and the specialist box hinges hold the lid open at a little over 90 degrees.
Its dimensions are 370mm x 270mm and is 95 mm high.

With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
