Handmade in Western Australia by Chris Busby. The box features a very attractive Jarrah case and a lid panel of beautiful shimmering Mahogany.
Generously sized, this box has plenty of room to keep items organised and ready to hand. Its simple and elegant design make it a perfect fit for any decor and is the perfect gift for a man or woman.
The inner base of the box and lid are lined with upholstery grade fabric and the specialist box hinges hold the lid open at a little over 90 degrees, ie. the lid does not flop all the way back and does not require the use of intrusive lid stays.
The overall dimensions of the box are 300 x 185 x 90 mm in height.
The box pictured is the one being purchased and postage within Australia is included in the price.
With its beautiful rich colours, interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
Mahogany is a straight-grained, reddish-brown timber of three tropical hardwood species of the genus Swietenia which are indigenous to the Americas. Mahogany is used for a wide variety of goods due to its attractive colouring and durable nature and is seen in fine furniture, musical instruments, cabinetry, and boat building.
