Another beautiful box handcrafted in Western Australia by Chris Busby. The box features a panel of American White Oak in the lid. The lid is hinged such that it stops at just over 90 degrees.
The box inner base and tray is lined with lovely hard-wearing faux suede in 'stone' colour. The tray is divided into two sections. The lower section features a single large space. Equally suited to a man or woman for storing any number of different items.
Its dimensions are 300 mm x 170 mm x 112 mm high. The mitre-jointed corners of the box feature decorative keys in oak and Jarrah which also provide additional strength.
The box pictured is the one you will receive.
With its beautiful rich colours interesting grain and occasional gum veins, Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) remains one of the world’s most desirable and sought after hardwoods. The tree grows to a majestic 40 metres in height only in the south west corner of Western Australia.
American White Oak Quercus alba is a hard, heavy wood common throughout the eastern United States. With a light-coloured sapwood and a light to dark brown heartwood, White oak is mostly straight grained with a medium to coarse texture and large distinctive growth rings.
