Bottlebrush (Callistemon sp)

This timber was obtained from my own garden and proved to be a dense and heavy timber that when first cut was a wonderful dark red colour. As it dried the timber changed to the brown colour seen here.

When dried the timber is an attractive caramel colour and has an interesting grain.
